Uniquely Eva M Designs – NEW Cobalt Blue Sea Glass Necklace

So for awhile I’ve been trying to figure out what my particular “niche” is — I definitely have trouble committing to one creative task alone (jewelry, magnets, cards, sewing projects, etc.) and my shop is certainly a reflection of that.  While the majority of my work is jewelry (both beach glass and beaded), I also have bookmarks, magnets, acrylic paintings, coasters, etc.  And I intend to continue that trend – I’m excited to be moving back north so I can pick up my sewing machine and get busy on some fun fabric projects!

That said, I have also wanted to find that one thing that makes Eva M Designs special.  I’ve been thinking about this for awhile, and earlier this fall I had narrowed that “thing” down to beach glass jewelry.  Granted, it’s still a broad base there — lots of people make beach glass jewelry.  What makes me and my work special?  Well, I think I figured it out.

When I started making jewelry, my focus was on the “young professional” trends I was attracted to as a new teacher — styles from The Limited, Loft, etc.  I still like those styles, and as you can see in my shop, I am definitely still creating those looks.  However, I realized recently that there is little in the world of beach glass jewelry besides pendant-type necklaces, bracelets in linked glass pieces, and dangly or stud earrings.  I want to meld that beach glass world with the “young professional” look I admire.  I want to create necklaces that stylishly scatter beach glass throughout chains, that recreate the big bulky modern — almost costume jewelry — look, using the beautiful pieces of glass I have found on the beach.

Well, this weekend I started this venture! I would like to share with you my FIRST product in what I consider a NEW line of jewelry!
